Taunton Vale Sport Club - Car Parking Payment Frequently Asked Questions
How much will I need to pay to park?
A single car parking charge of £2 per day. This payment covers 24 hour period from time of purchase.
Annual parking permits are available. Each permit covers two vehicles registered at the same household. Cost:

When will the parking charges first apply from?
It is intended that the start date for paid parking is Monday 5th September.
How will parking be enforced?
This is done via ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition). Your car registration plate will be detected upon arrival and departure. You will be required to pay for every 24hr period your vehicle stays in the carpark. If you have a parking permit you can come and go freely.
How do I pay?
Payment of daily parking charge can be made at the pay station within the car park via contactless payment (NO CASH ACCEPTED). There is also an app that can be downloaded.

I’m a volunteer, do the charges apply to me?
Yes, any cars parking within Taunton Vale Sports Club carpark are liable to charges. If you volunteer for your sports club / section, any special arrangements will need to be made through your committee. Do not assume that you will receive free parking otherwise you could end up with a fine.
Who will be responsible for enforcing the pay to park scheme?
Taunton Vale Sports Club has entered into an agreement, initially for a period of 5 years, with Creative Parking, to implement parking charges in the Taunton Vale Sports Club Car Park. Creative Parking are an approved contractor with the British Parking Association.
When will the charges apply?
The requirement to pay for parking applies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
What happens if I leave, and return later that day? Will I need to pay twice?
Your vehicle number plate will be recorded when you enter and leave the site.
As long as payment has been made you will be covered for a 24 hour window from the time from you first arrived, regardless of how many times you leave and re-enter the car park within that 24 hour window.
If I have an annual permit, how do I register my vehicle as exempt?
A register will kept of the number plates of permit holders vehicles (limited to two vehicles per person). Vehicles will be added to the register on purchase of the annual permit. The vehicle registration numbers will be shared with Creative Parking. They will ensure that no fines. It is your responsibility to ensure your permit is renewed annually.
Can I be fined if I don’t pay?
Yes, Creative Parking will issue fines to vehicles who are found to have parked with having paid, or holding a permit. Taunton Vale Sports Club is not responsible for issuing fines.
What happens if I get fined?
Fines will be issued by Creative Parking. Instructions for payment of any fines, and of appeal procedures, will included with the correspondence they send out. Fines will not be issued directly by Taunton Vale Sports Club. Any appeals/disputes should be made directly with Creative Parking, not TVSC management.
What about dropping off and picking up? Will I get fined if I have not paid?
A 20 minute window to allow for drop-off and collection is allowed for without requirement to pay to park. Should a vehicle complete a drop-off within a 20 minute window, it can return later to collect, and will be able to stay for another 20 minutes free of charge. However, the cameras will monitor any misuse of this allowance – it will not be possible to repeatedly enter and leave the carpark to avoid payment.
What happens if I get a new car?
Please contact the Sports Club Manager, who will happily remove your old car registration from the system and update with your new registration.
Why is paid parking at Taunton Vale Sport Club necessary? Where will the money go?
It is recognised that at peak times the car park can be full to overflowing, and it is hoped that payment for parking encourages more sustainable forms of transport, such as walking and cycling, and greater use of lift sharing.
Furthermore, since a change in government policy 3 years ago, TVSC no longer receive c.£35k per annum from the rental to mobile phone companies of the two telephone masts at the far end of the hockey pitch. It is hoped money raised through parking permits and daily parking fees will be reinvested back into the club facilities, including maintaining and improving the car park itself, whilst avoiding fee increases, particularly during a time of rapidly rising costs and economic uncertainty.
TVSC will not receive any money raised through parking penalties.
Other benefits of the charges are to discourage parking by non-users of our facilities and increase security for the Sports Club, and to deter anti-social behaviour and criminal damage to the Sports Club Facilities.
